Hangzhou Part 3

Our final stop in Hangzhou was at the Xixi Wetland Park. The park shows you what a water village used to look like and how they used to live as you walk among steams, ponds, and swamps.

As you walk into the wetlands, you come across stone bridges, old doors, and some swampy areas.

Several of the houses along the rivers and ponds.

With all the water in the area, there is plenty of flowers everywhere. Some grow right in the water, others on the banks. This creates many areas for bugs, turtles, and birds to nest and hide. Unfortunately, I saw very little wildlife the day I was there. Could have had something to due with the fact that it had to be over 100 degrees while we were walking around!
Entrance into one of the museums.

The woodwork is very old and there are many pictures carved into the designs. Traditional lamps hang from the ceilings all around the building.

Inside the museum are many pictures, drawings, and statues of different people and times. Most of these guys were ministers of certain things back in ancient times.

The wetlands were also host to many Dragon Boat Festivals. These festivals have been around in China for over 2000 years.
