My Sophie

Today I had to make the hard decision to put my dog Sophie to sleep. She was 15 years old, had the heart and the will but her body just started to give out. I got her at the Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury MA when she was 4 years old. Part Husky, part Lab she loved the snow and cold, hated the water and heat. We had some great adventures together!!

On our way to Lake Tahoe.

Living in Somerville MA shortly after I got her.

Down at Cape Cod, MA.

Living in Beacon Hill, MA.

Going hiking.

Resting after a long day!

I found this Calvin and Hobbes cartoon that sums everything up best.
She drove me crazy the last couple of years with her pacing and panting!! :P

I miss you and will always love you Sophie. You were such a good girl and an even better friend. :(

Muir Woods

Andi, my mom and I took a short day trip up to Muir Woods this past Monday. Muir Woods is a National Monument Park just about 15 minutes up from San Francisco.

The redwood trees there are ginormous!! The tallest one in the park is about 250ft.

Some areas were effected by forest fires years ago and never grew back.

Ms. Andi and my mom on the trail.

 So peaceful!

Inside of these hollowed out trees bats and birds will make nests.

 Saw a centipede.

Dizzy......:P

Making faces!

One trail in the woods wraps up around into the mountain a little. Watch your step!

 Tree art!

This branch was kinda cool the way it grew.

This little guy ran out in front of us, right up to our feet, and then dashed off into the woods.

And we were lucky enough right at the end of our hike to see a momma deer and her baby eating some sorrel.
