Hangzhou Part 1

We went to Hangzhou which is south of Shanghai to visit some of Andi's mothers relatives. While we were here, we went to several tourist spots. The first one was West Lake, a large fresh water(and I use that term loosely! :P) lake located in the center of the city.


There are many lotus plants all along the lake. The picture above is a statue of how people would pick the roots or flowers. 
These are floating boat houses. To get across the lake, we took the small boat in the second picture on the right.
I wanted to take this one!! :P
The boat takes you over to a small circular island where you walk along bamboo paths and across small bridges where the river flows through. There are many gardens, small temples and some wild roaming peacocks.
