Stoli

So our friend Anna took us to a Russian restaurant today called Stoli. While we were there, I thought this might be a good time to start taking photo's of food and figuring out how to start using this blog!

I had Siberian Pelmeni. They were little house made dumplings filled with ground beef and turkey and topped with sour cream. Quite good!

Andi had Golubtsi-cabbage stuffed with beef and rice in a tomato based broth which Anna told me is very traditional in Russia.

Anna got Vareniki which our Ukrainian style homemade potato dumplings with onion, mushroom and sour cream. These were amazing!! They reminded me of Mrs. T's pierogi's that you can buy in the supermarket and that my mom used to feed to me as a kid. I could have eaten 10 plates of these!

Last but not least we had Fruit Crepes. The fruit was a mixture of black currents, strawberries, and apple all which had been cooked down in red wine. This gave the fruit a tart like flavor that went well with the chocolate sauce and ice cream which was sweet. Anna told us that the Chef has studied with many French chefs and most of his dishes have French touches. All in all, a good lunch. Thanks Anna! We will miss you!!
