Liuhe Pagoda

A misplaced some photos on my computer and realized that there was one other place we went to while in Hangzhou. Liuhe Pagoda sits on a large hill facing the Quintang River.  The pagoda is 196 feet high and octagonal in shape.

The Pagoda was originally built in 970AD but was destroyed by warfare in 1121AD. It was then reconstructed in 1165AD and still stands today.
Each level has small rooms and corridors that lead you to windows where you have different views of the surrounding area.

At the top, you can look out over Quintang River and part of Hangzhou.

At the bottom of the Pagoda, there is a small temple with the large stone carving above. The carving says "If you stand at the top of the tower, you can hear the tide."
